“Thou knowest not where of thou speakest” the angel said.”
“There is no tragedy only the avoidable.Everything has its reason for being. Thou needest only distinguish what is temporary from what is lasting”
What is temporary?” asked Elijah
“The unavoidable.”
“And what is lasting?”
“The lessons of the unavoidable.”

The absurd is the essential concept and the first truth.
there are no lessons, nobody learns, and the history is all about repetitions. the same old mistakes, the same old greed and the same old foolishness. the only thing eternal is this moment, the day we are living in.
There are lessons that not many learn.
Sadly What you may know is different from what you feel.
Can you alter an instinct.. a reaction? How much can you bend, hide or manipulate it?
Theres little left to say.
Can everything make sense? should I?
havent read this book myself. but the alchemist and eleven minutes were awesome reads!
i feel you hav to read Paulo Coheo's books several times to grasp all the messages he wants to give..
I have read the 'Fifth Mountain' only once and it as this dialogue that impressed me the most.
i agree on that 'multy read' part...
when i was half way thru Alchemist, i felt like throwing the book out of the window... i think now i have gone thru it 5 times or more.
I'm reading Alchemist only now. :-)
And maybe the lessons of the unavoidable make many others avoidable :)
but whats life without these harsh lessons, eh. i've always somehow believed in learning things the hard way :)
doc, u hv one more reason to take the quiz tagged by geo.. i also tagged u :-)
Did Richard Bach come first or did Paulo Coelho? Or they are some sort of spirit-brothers:
RB said in Illusions, "There is no such thing as a problem without a gift for you in its hands. You seek problems because you need their gifts."
I really hope they are spirit-brithers. :)
Hi, bloghopped here from a few seasons...
er...*brothers
man, illusions is simply superb.
